“Edit to add: The owner personally reached out to me and extended his sincere apologies and even offered to rectify the issues specified in original review. Being a business owner myself, and knowing first hand that things happen, it is always important to own it and offer a solution. Great job on the follow up and genuine care for your guests. Also...it must me noted that the follow up was the very next day...here I am a month later adding this lol. Sorry my friend and thanks for standing on business!! Original review: Beautiful property. Absolutely beautiful! My only qualm is the lack of AC. We visited on a 85/90 degree day and the room was hot even with AC on. Doable during the day but I like to sleep comfortably. There was a ceiling fan but in order for the fan to be on, which would have been great, the light had to be on. The weird thing is the light that had to be on for the fan to work was in the sitting room. Bad wiring? Its an open floor plan so the light mattered. Other than that it was a very nice stay. Easy to access, great location and cool bit of history. We stayed in the carriage house for clarity.”
“Wonderful bed and breakfast with elegant décor, comfortable rooms, and excellent hospitality. The property was clean, quiet, and beautifully preserved, and the homemade breakfast each morning was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend this place for couples or anyone looking for a unique stay.”
“Beautiful, well-kept inn with stunning Victorian furnishings and a lovely, peaceful environment. There are many comfortable places to sit and relax both indoors and outside. James, the proprietor, was warm, kind, and very helpful. That said, amenities were minimal. Aside from a coffee maker in the room and tea in the hallway, there was no housekeeping during our four-night stay—no trash removal, bed making, refilled water bottles, or towel changes. We ended up taking out our own garbage. While we knew breakfast wasn’t included, for a property of this beauty and price point, we expected a bit more—perhaps light continental offerings or small touches like afternoon wine. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would recommend the inn, but it would be even better with improved amenities and service.”
“We stayed in the Ernest Hemingway Room while heading home from Hot Springs, and it was such a wonderful experience The property itself is absolutely stunning—beautifully maintained, peaceful, and full of charm. Our room was incredibly comfortable and felt so luxurious, making it the perfect place to relax after a long day of travel The location is also very convenient, just a short distance from downtown and several great restaurants We ended up driving because the weather turned unusually cold during our visit , but under normal conditions it would have been an easy and pleasant walk. Overall, it was a cozy, elegant, and memorable stay. We would happily return again!”
“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Empress. The new owners are very hospitable. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were spacious and tastefully decorated--the main house is like walking into a Victorian time capsule. Looking forward to returning.”
“The Empress of Little Rock was an absolutely beautiful and unforgettable place to stay. The historic Victorian architecture and elegant décor created a charming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The room was spotless, spacious, and filled with beautiful antique details that made the experience feel unique and luxurious. The staff and hosts were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive throughout the entire stay. Breakfast each morning was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented, adding even more charm to the experience. I also appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and the relaxing outdoor spaces around the property. Everything throughout the inn felt clean, organized, and professionally maintained. This is a perfect destination for romantic getaways, weekend trips, and anyone who appreciates historic elegance and exceptional hospitality.”
“My husband and I had a lovely stay! The Hornibrook Mansion (The Empress) is amazing!! The home is beautifully furnished and truly takes one back to another time. I loved reading my book in the library and wandering the common rooms downstairs. Our room upstairs also had a great soaking tub that was perfect for a bubble bath! The king size bed felt luxurious, and the gas fireplace was so cozy. Definitely want to return!”
